Our family rooms and suites

Flexibility as part of the package

Room rates & availability

We have any number of different options for families from rooms big enough for extra beds to family houses with their own entrances and gardens.

In fact, for our size we have more flexible accommodation options than most five star hotels. All our bedrooms and family houses are within child monitor range of the main castle (even if it's the kitchen where we can keep an eye on them while you're eating).

Derwent & Raisbeck

A suite of two interconnecting rooms in the North wing of the castle. There is a twin and a king-size double, one with bathroom with roll top bath, one with a walk-in shower. Next door (from May 2011) is our guest pantry, equipped for making light meals, snacks and drinks (hob, refrigerator, microwave and dishwasher).

The Little Castle

Your own castle within a castle, originally built as stables, mimicking the main castle with turrets, towers and crenellations. Downstairs there is a four poster bedroom and bathroom with roll-top bath. Upstairs, a twin/super-king bed with bathroom. The Little Castle has its own pantry for light snacks and drinks (hob, refrigerator, microwave and dishwasher), garden and entrance a short walk across the lawns and a short section of driveway from the main castle.

The Stable House

Another mini castle, there is a four poster bedroom downstairs, a day room, a bathroom and pantry (from Easter 2011) for light snacks and drinks (hob, refrigerator, microwave and dishwasher). Upstairs is a large twin/super-king bedroom with separate sitting area and a huge bathroom with roll-top bath. The Stable House has its own front garden and is a short walk from the castle across the croquet lawn.

The Orangery

The Orangery overlooks the croquet lawn but with its own secluded garden too. A super-kingsize bedroom and a separate day room/children's twin bedroom (with refrigerator and microwave) share a fabulous bathroom with bath and shower. Big south-facing arched gothic windows bathe the whole suite in sunshine. A few yards from the castle front door.

Other rooms in the castle

If you'd prefer to sleep in one room, Pendragon and Appleby both have space for two extra beds or, being only a small castle,  two adjacent rooms may suit your needs. All castle rooms have access to our guest pantry - opening in May 2011- (refrigerator, hob, microwave and dishwasher) on the first floor of the North Wing.
